Carvalho Crochets
*Made with Love*
I launched my business CarvalhoCrochets (Car-vel-lo Crow-shays) in 2021. After the threat of being furloughed during the pandemic, it was a must that I could always provide for myself and my family regardless of my regular 9-5 job. I can make almost anything. I can do it all honestly! I have recently engaged in testing patterns and now making my own patterns. My first pattern is the Tempted Cover Up which is available for sale. I’ve recent hired my packing and shipping manager, HERNANDO!
Outside of crocheting, I am currently a Program Director/Assistant Professor for a Graduate School of Education where I teach Core Pedagogy and support resident teachers. I enjoy a juicy drama tv show, putting my hair in protective styles, and working out on my Peloton (lb: tiffyishookd). Get it 😉
As a business owner, I am dedicated to quality customer service, delivering beautiful items, and being kind to everyone I encounter. If my customers are happy and satisfied, then I feel I have done my job.
It all begins with developing a skill…
In 2018, that skill was crocheting. It was the first day after 5 years of teaching in the classroom that I decided to take up the craft of crocheting. I was inspired by my 7th Grade homeroom of young ladies. They would come in with multiple skeins of yarn at 7:30AM and leave with beautiful baby blankets by the end of the day. I was fascinated that they could maintain their straight A’s and complete beautiful crocheted pieces at the same time. I thank them for introducing me to the world of fiber artistry. I love it here!
Through various venues such as YouTube tutorials, trial and error, and inquiry based practices, I have become a master at my skill. I enjoyed the years of practice especially because it’s never ending. I can now read patterns, create my own designs, and monogram crocheted items as well. My craft will only continue to grow because that’s just my personality. I love to learn.
